Westminster School District’s mission is to educate and empower all students to pursue excellence through a distinctive, rigorous, and engaging academic experience. They see this mission as a collective responsibility, and Elevo has been proudly partnering with Westminster in pursuit of that mission since 2023. Built on a foundation of strong relationships, our partnership has evolved to continuously meet the needs of WSD schools and students.
Elevo’s partnership with Westminster began with summer programs in 2023, and grew into school year support as well. This video from the Spring of 2024 highlights how Elevo Coaches really connected with students through our sports, SEL-infused physical activities, and educational enrichment activities. That Coach-student relationship is the foundation of everything we do.
As the Westminster School District expanded learning program continued to engage more and more students, Elevo was there to support that growth and help the district continue to build their vision of what expanded learning can be for their students. Elevo now supports before and after school programming at 10 schools, and after school at another four.
“Elevo helped us grow immensely, said Lisa Preciado, Extended School Program (ESP) Supervisor. “We went from having [about] 600 kids from summer last year to over 1000 this year. The year before that we only had about 300. So, it’s almost doubled every single year since Elevo’s been onboard.”
You can see learn more about how the partnership has evolved in our most recent video below:
At the end of the (expanded) day, it all comes back to the relationships that Elevo and WSD are building with students together.
“I love being able to interact with the students–it really brings out my own inner child,” said Elevo Regional Program Manager Harrison Quach. “It gives me the opportunity to be more creative, learn what they’re going through, explore their personalities, and also unlock that in myself. As adults, we tend to lose a lot of that creativity, that desire to explore. When you’re working with the students in Westminster School district, they are really eager to do that.”
“We have become a team that works together for the benefit of our students and our families, and our school district,” said John Staggs, Coordinator of ELOP. “It just continues to grow every day.”
